What is Hydrogen and oxygen separation?

Hydrogen and oxygen separation is called SPE electrolysed water making hydrogen technology in short. Proton Exchange Membrane replaces alkaline solid electrolyte. The electro-catalyst particles are directly attached to the membrane to form the membrane, which is also the electrode group.

The electrode assembly is to embed active electrode (catalytic substance) at the both sides of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane (SPE), which is a proton exchange membrane, only allows protons and water pass through. The electrolytic reaction of water during hydrogen production is carried out on the membrane-electrode, which acts as a diaphragm and electrode.

Water takes electrolytic reaction at the power anode and produces hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen, because at the anode it will lose electrons, will become hydrogen ions, which can be hydrated and go through proton membrane to reach the cathode, but oxygen cannot pass, can only be discharged outward. Also some water is brought to cathode.
